Sales and Distributing is a vital application area in the SAP ERP system. SD caters to the business processes that are associated with customer order fulfillment and has various components offering various functionality. Example:

  • An organization component for pricing which controls how prices and costs are determined in the sales

  • Transaction availability check, which controls how products stocks are allocated to various orders from multiple customers.  

  • It also handles credit management, which checks the creditworthiness of any customer before the transaction is approved. 

This module has integration complexity at a huge level. Sales and Distribution monitor and contains information about various activities such as product quotations, product inquiries, placing orders, delivery schedules, etc.
