A client is an autonomous unit in the R/3 system with respect to organization, data, and commercial law. There can be multiple clients in a physical SAP system, but with a standard installation, SAP delivers three below clients:
1. Client 000 – It is known as a reference client and should not be deleted or changed at any time from the system and is used for upgrading processes.
2. Client 001 – It is used as a sample client by the customer. When you install the system, both 000 and 001 clients are identical, but client 000 has additional customizing data after the upgrade.
3. Client 066 – It is for early-watch service, and it enables SAP to access the system to improve system performance remotely. Client 006 is a special client delivered for operational system monitoring.
