There are three types or categories of SAP GUI as below:
1. SAP GUI for Windows Environment – It is specially designed for Windows operating systems and provides a user experience similar to Windows. SAP GUI for Windows can also integrate with other applications based on ActiveX Controls and OLE Interfaces.
2. SAP GUI for Java Environment – SAP GUI for Java environment is a frontend Graphical user Interface implementation designed for multiple platforms. It is Java implementation based on platform-independent architecture and provides access to Control-enabling SAP applications, and it is also available on Windows.
3. SAP GUI for HTML – SAP GUI for HTML can map the screen elements present in the SAP transactions to HTML code automatically. It uses HTML business functionality present under the SAP Internet Transaction Server, and a normal web browser is enough to access all the transactions in SAP.
