Potassium (K)

Essential- activates about 40 enzymes. Associated with K+/Na+ pump, anion-cation balance in the cells. Bring about the opening and closing of stomata. Common in cell sap in plants vacuoles and helps in the turbidity of cells.
Deficiency symptoms – stunted growth. Yellow and shriveled lead margins. The mottled appearance of older leaves, short internodes, loss of apical dominance.
